The Academy has enjoyed decades of dedicated support from office managers who have maintained a central office, facilitated communication, served the officers and the Council, assembled mailings of the journal, tracked membership, and performed myriad other duties. The last office manager employed by the Academy was Jennifer “Jenny” Bouchard, who began her duties on 22 January 2011. Jenny overlapped several days with then-retiring Julie Regier, and she continued to work through 6 February 2020. Jenny assumed additional responsibilities after her supervisor, the Executive Director, separated from the Academy’s employment in May 2013. She assisted with an Academy crisis in 2016 when the Orlando Science Center ended our contract from its facilities and we shifted headquarters to the campus of Florida Institute of Technology. After her retirement in 2020, Jenny continued to help officers gratis during a transition period when the Academy shifted from a paid office manager to Allen Press Association Management.
In view of her long and dedicated service, the Academy’s Council approved establishment of a service award in Jenny’s name “to recognize significant short- or long-term service to the Academy by individuals and organizations, whenever the occasion or opportunity arises.”
